Cyber Assessment in Academia

After listening to their requirements, they had recently experienced some issues and challenges and wanted a full review of security including red teaming and vulnerability scanning

We conducted over 30 on-site interviews with the central services delivery team as well as the academic side to clearly understand the status quo and drivers for change

We proved the hypotheticals by physically testing security maturity and capability using techniques and tools which are widely exploited in the sector

We produced a series of risk prioritised improvements across people / process / technology that when implemented would drastically improve their security capability.

From initial engagement we were able to start conducting the interviews the very next day to gather the facts and materials we required.  The total assessment and testing duration was 4 weeks, running some elements sequentially.  They were then able to have a clear understanding of the areas for improvement.  Cambridge Cyber Advisers have been retained after the activity providing assurance over the remediation activity and as an expert advisor to the Senior Leadership Team and Provost on matters relating to data and security.
